With the ever changing landscape of technology, future graduates of 2030 and beyond must be prepared to face the world and the future job market with confidence. Will my child learn coding in the Maker robotics Camp?All camps at Code-it Hacks has a coding segment. Some camps are focused more on Coding while other creative camps bring together maker, design and technology aspect to give our campers a complete and close to real life product development experience.

What hardware and software to I need for the camp?All equipment and technology will be provided for Campers. Although some campers wish to bring their own laptops. Please check with us if the laptop will be compatible with the camp being attended. Whether bring your own device or using camp device, campers will not be allowed to browse the internet except for research and inquiry segment. We know that a big excitement of joining a coding camp is gaming. Campers will be given controlled and supervised free time game time of 20 minutes during the camp. During this time, campers may play a relevant game with their camp friends online.

What supplies and equipment will Code-it Hacks provide for the virtual Maker Robotics camp and Engineering camp?All equipment and project kits are provided by Code-it Hacks.

How much screen time will my child have during the camp?Code-it Hacks camps are specifically designed to give each and every camper a positive experience with technology. All camps have built in unplugged time. This includes: Research and inquiry time Team brainstorming time Outdoor field research time Outdoor games time We know that a big excitement of joining a coding camp is gaming. Campers will be given controlled and supervised free game time of 20 minutes during the camp. During this time, campers may play a relevant game with their camp friends online with supervision from coaches.

How many students are enrolled in each camp and what is the student to teacher ratio?Each camp has a maximum of 10 students. Each class will have one instructor and 1 to 2 coaches.

What is your refund policy?Cancellation and Refund Policy · For cancellations made for any reasons until May 1st, the deposit is refundable less a $25 administrative fee per camper. · For cancellations made between May 1st and June 1st, 50% of the total fees are refundable. · For cancellations made after June 1st, no refunds will be made. · No refunds will be made for camp days missed due to general illness or personal matters. Days missed cannot be made up in other sessions

Does my child need to be vaccinated to attend the camp?Unless notified differently by Ministry of health and Toronto Public Health, all campers and staff Ages 12 and above must be fully vaccinated and must show proof of vaccination to attend Code-it Hacks camps.

Where are kids going for the field trip and TECH Company visits?Pre COVID, Code-it Hacks camps were popular for tech company visits or camp inquiry and research specific field trips. This year we are carefully planning to re-introduce this segment of our camp but with certain restrictions: Tech company visits are not confirmed and may be confirmed the week of each camp due to COVID restrictions Subject to weather conditions, we will be moving forward with the outdoor field trips If campers are not visiting the TECH company, Friday afternoons will be dedicated to EXPO showcase. We will have tech industry experts as guests to see our campers present and provide feedback and offer words of encouragement Parents may be able to attend EXPO session if indoor limits are lifted by Ministry of health and if permission form Swansea town hall management is granted.
