ROBLOX What to expect?

Our Roblox camps are  fun educational camp that sparks creativity as students learn key coding skills using the Roblox platform and Lua scripting.

All Roblox camp will have three segments:

  1. Coding fundamentals using LUA scripting

  2. Fundamentals ofGame Development Design

  3. Creating your Roblox world - creating and manipulating object

  • Design session in breakout teams

  • Building multiple unique projects

  • Alpha and Beta Testing

VIRTUAL CAMP REQUIREMENTS

Required Hardware:

  • Students will need access to a windows and MAC Laptop or PC

  • PC/Windows:  Roblox will install on Windows 7, Windows 8/8.1, or Windows 10. F

  • Mac: Roblox Studio will install on Mac OS 10.10 (Yosemite) and above. 

  • Webcam

Required Software:

  • Roblox Studio is FREE:

  • If you need help with installation, please send us an email after  you have registered and a Code-it Hacks team member will set up a time with you to get your camp ready!

  • Stable internet Connectivity

ROBLOX Rainbow Obstacle Game Development

Section A & B - July 20th - July 24th (FULL)

Section C - August 3rd - August 7th (NEW CLASS)

Time for Obby! Obby or Obstacle games are a great way to get introduced to Roblox game development.

An Obby or Obstacle Course is a great beginner game that will teach you the basics of Roblox Studio and the Lua scripting language.

Master jumps, Kill blocks, Challenges, Checkpoints, and Level Advancement. Practice working with  parts, scripts, materials, and transform tools.

 

Coding highlight:

 

  • Intro to Lua scripting

  • Data types

  • Variables

  • Collision detection

  • Conditional statements

  • Loops

ROBLOX Galactic Race - Game Development 

Section A - July 27th - July 31st (FULL)

 

Section B - July 27th - July 31st (NEW CLASS)

3:30 pm - 5:30pm

Ages 8 +

A racing game - only in Space.

Master cards, checkpoints, timers, obstacles, and leaderboards. In the Roblox Editor you’ll likely use vehicle seats, the terrain editor, server scripts, the Roblox toolbox, and more. 

Practice working with  parts, scripts, materials, and transform tools.

ROBLOX Adventure in Game Development

It's time to solve some challenges in the story based quest.

Adventure Games usually feature tools, weapons, power-ups, enemies, and more. Master the tool creator and the terrain editor.

ROBLOX - TYCOON

Are you ready to build an empire?

A Tycoon is a popular business simulation game in which Roblox players build bases or factories and progressively upgrade their production facilities to earn in-game currency. 

Learn about player progression, part generation, purchasing items, and about base/factory creation. Master, click detectors, textures and materials, humanoids, and scripts.

ROBLOX - BROOMSTICK DODGERS

Aug 24th - Aug 28th

3:30 pm - 5:30pm

Ages 8 +

Not your ordinary Quidditch game! Make your own rules in this awesome adventure of space dodger.

Using your imaginations your will designs parts and objects to simulate a quidditch like game.

Learn to  design with hazards, timers, terrain, and leaderboards. Things you’ll likely use in Roblox Editor include the Terrain Generator, Lighting, and Fog. Make it a multiplayer to double the fun!
